Did you know that the fastest growing age group in the country is people older than 65? In Eastern Washington alone, we have more than 128,000 seniors who call our community home. Many of these seniors are Medicare beneficiaries, and others have health insurance through Medicare Advantage plans. These plans are essential for providing comprehensive, coordinated coverage at significantly lower out-of-pocket cost.
As your representative in Congress, first and foremost, my goal is to protect Social Security and Medicare benefits for our seniors. I also believe that Social Security must be put on a path toward fiscal sustainability without cutting benefits to seniors who are currently enrolled or those who are nearing retirement and will rely on Social Security.
There is still much work to be done to honor the commitment we made to our seniors, and I am eager to continue working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to protect your access to quality care.
I am here to help. If you ever need assistance with Social Security, Medicare, the VA, or any federal agency or program, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
