Crop Insurance Fixed

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) praised the inclusion of a fix to the crop insurance program in the conference report for H.R. 22. It passed the U.S. House with an overwhelming bipartisan majority, 359-65.

McMorris Rodgers released the following statement:

“There were problematic changes to the crop insurance program in the Bipartisan Budget Act we passed in October that would have hurt Eastern Washington’s farmers. Before I agreed to support the deal, I made certain these changes would be completely reversed in upcoming legislation.

“I promised our farmers it would happen, and now it’s done.”
