Congressional Youth Advisory Council

In 2021, I was thrilled to start a Congressional Youth Advisory Council to hear directly from the next generation of leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs in Eastern Washington. It was such a joy having the opportunity to get them involved in this great experiment in self-governance and discuss how we can continue working together to build a more perfect union.

Now, we are looking for the next class of high school juniors and seniors in Washington’s Fifth Congressional District to participate in this interactive learning experience and meet with me and my team to share ideas about the most pressing issues of our time.

As a CYAC member, students will learn about the federal government, discuss public policy, and get special insight into how I’m working in Congress to deliver results for our community. Students will also strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills by assessing the role of the federal government as it relates to Eastern Washington, while mastering their public speaking and writing skills.

If you are interested in applying to be a member of this special group of young men and women, click here to fill out an application today. If you are a teacher, parent, or just know someone in Eastern Washington that would be a great fit for the CYAC, then you can nominate them here!

The deadline to apply for the 2023-2024 Congressional Youth Advisory Council is September 22nd, 2023.

More information about the program is below. All questions about the CYAC can be directed to Kemper Jolly at Kemper.Jolly@mail.house.gov or by calling (509)-353-2374.
