Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) will welcome members of the House Natural Resources Committee to Eastern Washington where she will help lead a field hearing on the importance of the Lower Snake River dams. One of the topics lawmakers will discuss is the technology being used to maximize hydropower generation while also ensuring safe fish passage for endangered salmon that travel along the Snake River.
Members on the panel will include Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife and Fisheries Chairman Cliff Bentz (OR-02), Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Dan Newhouse (WA-04), Congressman John Duarte (CA-13), and Congressman Mike Collins (GA-10).
Witnesses at the field hearing will include representatives from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Bonneville Power Administration, Northwestern Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Port of Lewiston, Benton Public Utility District, Washington Association of Wheat Growers, McGregor Company, Washington Policy Center, and Kintama Research Services.
