Talking with Farmers during harvest.

I grew up in a farming family with deep roots in Eastern Washington. Side by side with my parents and younger brother, I worked on our family’s orchard and later helped manage the family business.

As a member of Congress, I’ve brought these experiences to our nation’s capital. I am a proud supporter of the Farm Bill, representing the interests of Eastern Washington farmers and ranchers.

I continue to support policies that expand markets for our farmers, reduce their energy costs, increase their water supply and assure the future vitality of our land. I remain committed to Eastern Washington’s agricultural community.

Here is my five point plan for a strong agriculture future in Eastern Washington:

1. Create a strong farm policy that enables farmers to access new markets while investing in cutting edge research
2. Keep land productive and farmers competitive
3. Protect and enhance existing water supplies and storage
4. Ensure the viability of our rural communities
5. Expand domestic energy supplies and explore alternative energy sources
