H.R. 4378 Making continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2020 NO This legislation extends federal funding through November 21, 2019. Every night across our country families sit at their dinner tables and make difficult financial decisions. As legislators, we should fulfill our duties and complete the budget by the end of the fiscal year and not continually kick the can down the road.I voted against this resolution because it’s past time we rein in federal spending and fix a broken budget process.

H.R. 1423 FAIR Act NO Arbitration is a quick and less complicated way for alleged victims to be compensated. The FAIR Act would force class action lawsuits, which often take years to complete with no guarantee of a better outcome, by eliminating Arbitration.

SUSPENSION BILLS

**A suspension bill is a bill passed by the House through suspending the rules to move quickly, circumventing the House Rules Committee. Suspension bills are typically less controversial pieces of legislation, and as the rules are being suspended, they require a higher threshold, two-thirds of those voting in the House, to pass. Additionally, these bills are often passed by a voice vote, without a formal roll call vote.
