H.R. 5515 | National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 | Yes | This bill authorizes and prioritizes funding for the Department of Defense (DoD) and military activities and construction, and prescribes military personnel strengths for Fiscal Year 2019. The bill will modernize our military equipment, restore our military readiness, and provide a much-deserved pay raise for our troops, like those who serve at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington. |

S. 204 | Trickett Wendler, Frank Mongiello, Jordan McLinn, and Matthew Bellina Right to Try Act of 2017 | Yes | Sadly, some terminally ill patients who are fighting for their lives do not have the ability to try investigational drugs or medical treatments. This legislation, commonly known as “The Right to Try,” will help Eastern Washingtonians with life-threatening illnesses gain access to alternative treatments after they have exhausted all other options. This legislation is already law in 38 states, including Washington where it pass unanimously. |

S. 2155 | Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act | Yes | This bill would modify provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd Frank Act) and other laws governing regulation of the financial industry to provide relief to small and community banks. The bill also would make changes to consumer mortgage and credit-reporting regulations and to the authorities of the agencies that regulate the financial industry. This bill will provide much needed regulatory relief to community financial institutions, which will increase the availability of capital for consumers and better allow them to take advantage of the strength of the economy. |
SUSPENSION BILLS
**A suspension bill is a bill passed by the House through suspending the rules to move quickly, circumventing the House Rules Committee. Suspension bills are typically less controversial pieces of legislation, and as the rules are being suspended, they require a higher threshold, two-thirds of those voting in the House, to pass. Additionally, these bills are often passed by a voice vote, without a formal roll call vote.
