Great to join for the ribbon cutting at the new West Plains Transit Center this morning. I’m excited for what this facility will mean for continuing to connect Spokane County through public transportation.
As a warrior for human dignity and human value, I will always stand against violence, especially violence for the purpose of oppressing people. My hope is for my daughters and others to live in a world where they are safe from harm and empowered to reach their full potential.
Today, the House passed the second stage of our infrastructure agenda to rebuild our ports, dams, and waterways. I testified in support of this legislation and my Port of Whitman Economic Expansion Act that was included. Watch here:
Proud to join for this hearing on Monday to advocate for our dams and all the benefits they bring to our region. The fact of the matter is that dams and fish coexist. That’s why we need to work together to support them.
Today, we remember all those we lost and the heroes who bravely confronted evil on 9/11. We can #NeverForget them or their sacrifices so we remember what’s at stake: our values, our country, and our children’s future.
On Rosh Hashanah, I want to wish my Jewish friends in Eastern Washington and throughout the country a sweet and happy New Year. This past year was difficult for many, as the ancient evil of anti-Semitism seemed on the rise throughout Europe, in the Middle East, and on too many college campuses. Sadly, denunciations of Jews and Israel have become commonplace.
Thanks to USO for assembling these care packages for military spouses. It was great to stop by and lend a hand. When someone joins the military it’s not just an individual decision, it’s a family commitment to our country.
More good news on the economy. A job is so much more than a paycheck -- it’s what gives us the opportunity for a better life. When we are creating jobs, we are creating opportunities here in Eastern Washington.
