Another Expensive Thanksgiving

Budget & Fiscal Responsibility

As families in Eastern Washington get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, they’ll have to save a seat for an unwelcome guest – inflation. According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, this year’s traditional meal is expected to be one of the most expensive in history, with families on the West coast paying an average of $61.17 more than they did in 2019.

Here’s how it breaks down:

The worst part? This is just for the meal! When you consider record-high gas prices, Thanksgiving is quickly becoming unaffordable for the average family.

Make no mistake about it: This is Bidenomics in action. Since President Joe Biden took office, prices have risen 17.1% thanks to the runaway inflation caused by Democrats’ out-of-control spending. It’s a burdensome ax on every single American, and it’s making everything from putting dinner on the table to a family road trip more expensive.

It’s time to put an end to the reckless spending that is driving inflation so we can get back to enjoying this great American tradition without worrying about how to pay for it.
