Bill Passed to Boost Agriculture Production
When I saw how Nelson Farms uses innovative technology to support precision agriculture in Eastern Washington, I knew the future of farming was here. Drones, sensors, and advanced satellite technology are revolutionizing the way our agriculture community grows our food. We must ensure federal regulations support and help expand sustainable agriculture practices.
That’s why I helped lead the Precision Agriculture Satellite Connectivity Act through the Energy and Commerce Committee and to the House floor, where it passed earlier this week. This bill will unleash innovation in satellite technology, so farmers can use precision agriculture to continue doing what they do best: feed people in the United States and in countries and the world.
It’s more important than ever to use every available resource to support Eastern Washington farmers, and that’s what this bill is all about. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate to get it across the finish line and signed into law.
