Celebrating the Month of the Military Child
There are more than 1.6 million children who have a parent actively serving our nation, including the nearly 2,000 who call Fairchild Air Force Base in Eastern Washington home. Each one of these children demonstrates immense courage and commitment to our country while their parents serve around the world.
That’s why I introduced a bipartisan resolution yesterday to celebrate April as the Month of the Military Child. This month will serve as a reminder to recognize the incredible sacrifices of military children across the country and to help us honor them with unwavering support and appreciation.
To all of the children of active duty servicemembers, we salute you. We recognize your commitment to your country. We share in your struggles of not always seeing your mom or dad, and we support you unconditionally. Just like your parents, you are a hero in your own way, and in April, we celebrate you.
