Free Access To America’s National Parks

I have some great news for veterans and members of the military in Eastern Washington! President Biden recently signed the Veterans in Parks (VIP) Act into law as part of the National Defense Authorization Act. This is a bill I cosponsored to make it easier for veterans and servicemembers to enjoy the beautiful lands they have fought to protect.

Thanks to this bipartisan bill, more than 2,000 federal national parks, forests, and wildlife refuges are now FREE for all active-duty servicemembers, veterans, and Gold Star Families to enjoy. This is an exciting opportunity for all those servicemembers and their families who rely on outdoor recreation for a healthy, active lifestyle – and those who just love the great outdoors!

This bill is a great way for us to roll out the red carpet for those who served, and I am proud to see it signed into law. If you are a servicemember, veteran, or Gold Star Family member, you can learn more about the America the Beautiful military pass by clicking here.
