It’s Time To Make Our Energy In America Again

Energy is foundational to everything that we do. It powers every part of our lives—from turning the lights on in our homes to keeping the supply chain running. But right now, inflation continues to hover at a 40-year high. Businesses and hard-working Americans are struggling to afford food, gas, and other essentials.    

It’s time to flip the switch on domestic energy production and lower prices across the board. To win the future, we must reduce our critical mineral dependence on adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party and Russia. This is essential to our energy and national security.

That’s why I introduced the Securing American Mineral Supply Chains Act to finally address the single biggest issue impacting mining and manufacturing in America – permitting reform. This legislation will:

  • Streamline the permitting process for mining on federal lands;
  • Expedite permitting of mineral processing and refining facilities here at home;
  • Establish a strategic reserve of uranium and reduce our dependence on Russia;
  • Counter China’s dominance in the critical energy resource supply chain; and
  • Boost America’s domestic production and refining capacity.

This reform is long overdue. The eyes of the world are on us, and it’s time we stand up to our adversaries and restore our energy dominance once and for all.
