Spokane, Wash. – In honor of Veterans Day, Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) today encouraged veterans across Washington’s 5th Congressional District to participate in the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project. This project gives veterans the unique opportunity to share their story of service in the U.S. Armed Services, which will be preserved in America’s archives for generations to come.

“The brave men and women who served our country have important stories to share about their inspiring service,” said Rodgers. “We must never let our children and grandchildren forget the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom, which is why I’m excited about the Veterans History Project. This is such a unique opportunity for veterans and Gold Star Families in Eastern Washington to share their experiences with the next generation and forever preserve their legacy in the Library of Congress.”

The Veterans History Project, which was created in 2000 by an act of Congress, invites veterans of all ages to share their stories through an audio or visual interview, memoirs, or photographic documentation for the Library of Congress archives.
