WASHINGTON, D.C. — Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05), the leading Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce, released the following statement today on President Trump’s American AI Initiative Executive Order.

“In order for us to be a diplomatic power, we have to be a military power, and in order to be a military power, we have to be an economic power. Technology has revolutionized everything we do, and continued innovation is critical to the future of our 21st Century economy,” said McMorris Rodgers. “Thank you to President Trump for recognizing the need for American leadership in artificial intelligence.”
