Washington, D.C. – Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) released the following statement after a productive call with Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough this afternoon regarding the potential cuts to staff or services at Mann-Grandstaff.

“I just had a productive conversation with VA Secretary Denis McDonough in which he made a commitment to me that there will not be any cuts to staff or services at Mann-Grandstaff. While this is very welcome news, the secretary needs to keep his word. Time and time again, the VA has said one thing to our veterans’ faces just to do the opposite behind their backs. We are all tired of the broken promises. This time must be different if the secretary wants to start rebuilding trust in Eastern Washington today.”
