McMorris Rodgers’ Statement on the 7th Anniversary of the September 11th Attacks
Dec 23, 2008Military & National Security (Washington, D.C.) Today, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers released the following statement regarding the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001:
“Today, the nation remembers the lives lost seven years ago in New York, at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania. It’s important we never forget the innocent civilians and first responders who perished that day.
“Today’s somber anniversary is a reminder of the continuing threat our country faces from terrorism. We should honor and thank the first responders who protect our communities and the brave men and women serving in the Armed Forces and government agencies who work tirelessly both here at home and around the world to prevent another terrorist attack against our country. Their efforts and sacrifices allow us to enjoy the day-to-day freedom and privileges of living in the United States.
I would also like to recognize the Active Duty, Guard/Reserve, civilian employees and family members working at Fairchild AFB. The operational and training missions being accomplished by these great Americans and community heroes play a vital role in the Global War on Terrorism."
