McMorris Rodgers Receives “Champion of Healthcare Innovation” Award
Washington, D.C. – Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, was honored by the Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC) with their “Champion of Healthcare Innovation” award, the Congresswoman’s office announced today. The annual award recognizes lawmakers who support patient-centered medical progress.
“I am proud to accept the ‘Champion of Healthcare Innovation Award,’” said Rep. McMorris Rodgers. “The Healthcare Leadership Council is an outstanding leader for America’s patients and providers, and I’ve enjoyed working with them on shared priorities, including expanding patient choice, emphasizing wellness, and fostering a climate of innovation.”
“Perfecting a 21st century healthcare system that is both affordable and accessible for all Americans and that provides care of the highest quality hinges on support for healthcare innovation. We need to constantly develop new and better ways to deliver care and link patients and consumers to the healthcare system,” said HLC president Mary R. Grealy. “We’re grateful for Congresswoman McMorris Rodgers’ leadership, dedication and hard work in advancing the quality, accessibility and cost-effectiveness of American healthcare.”
The Healthcare Leadership Council is a coalition of national health care leaders whose purpose is to develop policies to create a 21st century health care system in which affordable, high-quality care is available to all Americans.
