H.R. 256
To repeal the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002

Passed  |  268-161
My Vote  |  No

While I agree that there need to be changes in the current AUMF, I feel that repealing the 2002 AUMF without a replacement would leave our military and the Iraqis in a difficult and uncertain position.

Suspension Bills
A suspension bill is a bill passed by the House through suspending the rules to move quickly, circumventing the House Rules Committee. Suspension bills are typically less controversial pieces of legislation, and as the rules are being suspended, they require a higher threshold, two-thirds of those voting in the House, to pass. Additionally, these bills are often passed by a voice vote, without a formal roll call vote.

H.R. 468
Expedited Delivery of Airport Infrastructure Act of 2021

H.R. 2016
Federal Disaster Coordination Act of 2021

Passed  |  Voice
My Vote  |  Yes

This bill extends the deadline by which the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) must conduct a study and develop a plan under which the collection of information from disaster assistance applicants and grantees will be made less burdensome, duplicative, and time consuming for applicants. The bill also requires a plan for the regular collection and reporting of information on federal disaster assistance awarded.

H.R. 1262
Notice to Airmen Improvement Act of 2021

Passed  |  Voice
My Vote  |  Yes

This legislation requires that the FAA establish a task force to recommend improvements for its pilot alert system. NOTAMs provide safety-critical flight information to individuals involved with flight operations and are delivered through a pilot alert system. These notices concern the establishment, condition, or change of any component in the National Airspace System (NAS) and alert pilots of abnormalities in the NAS such as hazards along the flight path, closed runways, or military exercises with resulting airspace restrictions.

The bill also requires the VA to establish a publicly available website that provides links to all VA fact sheets. Finally, the VA must report to Congress regarding the utilization of such fact sheets as well as the details of the Language Access Plan of the VA.

VA FOIA Reform Act of 2021

Passed  |  Voice
My Vote  |  Yes

H.R. 610, 293, 587, 1144, 1703 1921, 2008, 2332, 2545, 3642
En Bloc Bills

Passed  |   287-140
My Vote  |  No

I support the majority of the bills included in the en bloc. However, I do not support H.R. 1703, which would give taxpayer dollars to an organization that has a history of promoting educational resources that promote divisive theories about race in America.

6/15/2021

H.R. 239
Equal Access to Contraception for Veterans Act

Failed  |  240-188
My Vote  |  No

This bill would prohibit the VA from requiring copayments for any kind of contraception that is required to be covered by health insurance plans without a cost-sharing requirement under Obamacare regulations. This would include abortion-inducing drugs.

My Vote  |  Yes

This bill would award 4 Congressional Gold Medals to the United States Capitol Police (USCP) Department for display at the USCP Headquarters, the DC Metro Police Headquarters, the Smithsonian Institution, and the United States Capitol. I voted yes on this because the USCP are our heroes and guardians in Congress, and their actions on January 6th should be recognized.

6/15/2021

H.R. 1443
LBGTQ Business Equal Credit Enforcement and Investment Act

Failed  |   248-177
My Vote  |  No

This bill requires financial institutions to report additional credit application data to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, creating unnecessary burdens for community financial institutions.
