Protecting the Integrity of our Elections

President Biden will stop at nothing to ensure a federal takeover of our election system. Just a few weeks ago, he signed an executive order authorizing the use of your tax dollars to get around newly-passed state election integrity laws.

Additionally, the president’s executive order would:

  • Order every federal agency (including those that have nothing to do with elections) to develop a plan to promote voter registration and participation;
  • Allow partisan organizations to register voters on federal property; and
  • Weaponize the Department of Justice to attack opponents who stand in the way of attempts to federalize elections.

This is nothing more than a thinly-veiled attempt to federalize our election system and give more power to the White House. It is an outrageous undermining of our state election laws that raises serious ethical, legal, and constitutional concerns.That’s why I’ve joined my colleagues in demanding answers for the American people. You can read our letter to the Acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget here. While we wait for a response, I will continue working with my colleagues towards real election reform that makes it easier to vote and harder to cheat.
