Seniors
From the beginning of my congressional career, I have worked to protect social security, create a simplified tax form for seniors, renew the Older Americans Act, inform seniors about the new prescription drug program and, now, ensure health care reform doesn’t jeopardize seniors' health care.
I know Eastern Washington seniors are concerned about finding a doctor who will accept Medicare and keeping the doctor they’ve seen for years. Yet, the health care reform proposal in Congress could adversely affect that.
That is why I am holding a very important town hall meeting in Walla Walla to discuss this issue with you. I invite you to join me August 27, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at Walla Walla Community College (map). I look forward to updating you on this health care legislation and hearing your concerns.
For more information about the health care reform proposal, please visit this special section of my website. You can read my health care reform principles, read the health care bill and let me know what you think.
In addition, I’ve compiled this list of resources available especially for Eastern Washington seniors. And remember, if you ever need assistance or have a question about an issue before Congress, please contact my office.
