Washington, D.C. –House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement in response to the recent spike in violence across Israel and the Palestinian territories:

“Once again Israel is confronting terrorism from those who cannot let the Jewish people live in peace. This past month, eight Israelis have been killed in brutal terrorist attacks, with even innocent children falling victim to politically-motivated stabbings.

“This terror against Israeli civilians must stop. It tears at the fragile bonds of civility that exist between Muslims, Christians, and Jews in Jerusalem, the holiest of cities. It serves no one.

“Our country stands firmly by Israel and supports all its efforts to build a peaceful, modern society in Jerusalem and all of Israel. Our prayers go out to all the families who have suffered loss at the hands of senseless violence.”
