Washington, D.C. – Today Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) celebrated the election of Paul Ryan as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. As Chair of the House Republican Conference, McMorris Rodgers nominated Ryan as the majority party’s candidate for Speaker. “Mister Speaker, today, in the People’s House, it gives me great pleasure to nominate the People’s Speaker,” McMorris Rodgers said. The demands on families, businesses, and institutions have changed, and now Congress and Washington, D.C. must change too.
