“It was with tremendous pride that I welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a Joint Meeting of Congress today.  When the world faces the unprecedented rise of Islamic terrorism and the impending threat of a nuclear Iran, the Prime Minister’s address came at a crucial time for America and the world.  It is a time to transcend party politics.  It is a time to meet the evils of terrorism with the strength of democracy.  And it is a time for Americans to continue to stand beside Israel with unwavering resolve.  The Prime Minister’s message reminds us of our unshakable human spirit – and unites all Americans in our fight against terrorism.  History has shown us that the world pays a heavy price when we appease dictators and turn a blind eye to evil.  And so it is with unending resolve that we continue to support Israel, protect Israel, and defend Israel.”
