McMorris Rodgers, Bipartisan House and Senate Accords Caucuses Statement on Israeli President Herzog Address to Congress
Washington, D.C. – Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) today released the following statement with her co-chairs of the House and Senate Abraham Accords Caucuses after Israeli President Issac Herzog addressed a joint session of Congress to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel and the nation’s historic relationship with the United States.
House Caucus co-chairs include Representatives Brad Schneider (D-IL), Ann Wagner (R-MO), and David Trone (D-MD). Senate Abraham Accords Caucus co-chairs include Senators James Lankford (R-OK), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Joni Ernst (R-IA).
“The founding of the State of Israel was nothing short of miraculous and a profound moment in history. For 75 years, the United States’ support for Israel has been – and will continue to be – steadfast, unwavering, and bipartisan,” said the members. “Today, we’re proud to come together across party lines to meet with President Herzog and reaffirm the unbreakable bond and friendship between our two nations. That includes our strong support for the Abraham Accords and the promise it holds for promoting security, peace, and prosperity in the Middle East. We are committed to building on the success of these historic agreements, helping encourage and deepen regional partnerships, and widening the circle of peace to new countries and for the benefit of all people of the region.”
