WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a press conference today, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) offered her support of a series of bipartisan anti-human trafficking bills, which increase protection for the victims of human trafficking, hold buyers and sellers engaged in sex trafficking accountable for their crimes, and streamline law enforcement resources.

“We must put an end to one of this country’s most egregious epidemics: human sex trafficking. This heinous offense is taking place in our own backyard, and traffickers who target our daughters and our sisters must be stopped. The victims of this crime must be protected. Our bipartisan legislation works to protects the innocent victims of sex trafficking while holding those who buy and sell children accountable for their actions. As the mom of three, I will do everything I can to prevent future children from knowing the horrors of this crime.”
