New Bill to Stop Sex Trafficking

As a mother, there’s nothing more horrifying than the thought of young women and children falling victim to sex trafficking. This heinous crime is happening right here in Eastern Washington, and we must do something to stop it.

That’s why I helped introduced the Sex Trafficking Reduction Act this week to withhold assistance to foreign countries that fail to take serious action to reduce sex trafficking. This bill will give the President of the United States the important authority to finally  hold accountable those who allow this deplorable trade to continue unabated around the world.

There’s no silver bullet to end sex trafficking, but my hope is that this bill will help us take an important step towards protecting the most vulnerable in our communities. The lives of innocent women and children depend on it.
