The United States Stands With Israel
The founding of the State of Israel was nothing short of miraculous and a profound moment in history. For 75 years, the United States’ support for Israel has been – and will continue to be – steadfast, unwavering, and bipartisan.
Today, I was proud to stand in solidarity with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to hear Israel President Issac Herzog’s address to a joint session of Congress. I was so inspired by his message of hope – that together, we can make the world a better place and heal our divisions. He beautifully reaffirmed the unbreakable bond and friendship between our two nations. You can watch President Herzog’s speech here:
His address could not have come at a better time. Yesterday, I joined 411 of my colleagues – Republicans and Democrats – to pass an important resolution that sent a clear message: The State of Israel is not racist, and it is not an apartheid state. This dangerous antisemitic rhetoric from a select few of my colleagues has no place in the United States, and the fact that it has penetrated the halls of Congress is profoundly disturbing. We can and must do better.
Israel is America’s most important ally in the Middle East. Its people share our love for democracy. They long for a brighter future full of peace and prosperity. My hope is that our actions this week showed our friends that the United States stands with Israel.
Today, tomorrow, and always.
