Working Together To Solve The Fentanyl Crisis
Spokane County is a crisis spot for fentanyl trafficking in the United States. We are on the front lines of a battle against a deadly drug that is flooding our streets, taking innocent lives, and tearing families apart.
That’s why I held a roundtable yesterday with community leaders, law enforcement, and health care professionals to draw attention to what fentanyl is doing to families in Eastern Washington. I am so grateful to Molly, Chrystal, and Marsha – who have all lost loved ones too soon to the fentanyl crisis – for sharing their stories and using their voices to sound the alarm and save lives. They are an inspiration to our entire community.
This is a crisis that we need to solve at the local level, and I am so encouraged by the incredible individuals and organizations who are working so hard to do just that. Together, we can turn the tide on this epidemic, get these drugs off our streets, and keep our kids safe.
