Bill Passed To Help Save Lives
Great news! The House and Senate finally came together to pass the final version of the Data Mapping to Save Moms’ Lives Act. This is legislation we worked on earlier this year to deploy critical telehealth services to areas where a lack of broadband is putting expecting mothers and their unborn infants at risk.
Now that it has passed both chambers of Congress, the bill is on its way to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law. This is a big win for expecting mothers across the country, and I’m confident it will improve maternal care and help save lives.
The bottom line is that no family should ever have to worry about unreliable broadband endangering the life of an expecting mother or her unborn child. This soon-to-be law brings us one step closer to achieving that goal, and I was proud to help get it across the finish line.
