McMorris Rodgers Announces Disbursement of 2022 Pilt Funding for Eastern Washington
Washington, D.C. – Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) today announced the Department of the Interior’s disbursement of 2022 Payments in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) program funding totaling more than $4 million for Eastern Washington counties. Each year, PILT funds are made available to local governments to help offset their inability to tax federal property.
“Rural communities across Eastern Washington and the country rely on PILT funding from the Department of the Interior to fund critical infrastructure projects and keep essential services like schools and law enforcement up and running,” said Rodgers. “I’m proud to have advocated for this important funding again this year, and I’m confident it will go a long way to provide certainty for communities with limited resources.”
Rodgers leads her House colleagues in requesting full funding for the PILT program during the annual appropriations process.
Below are the disbursement totals for Eastern Washington Counties:
- Asotin County: $186,150
- Columbia County: $419,913
- Ferry County: $962,191
- Garfield County: $267,136
- Lincoln County: $261,409
- Pend Oreille County: $1,269,568
