This evening, as you gather for the Seder meal, my prayer is that you are challenged anew to strengthen your faith in God and follow the journey that leads to freedom.

Because a shared meal is a shared life, tonight is a chance for us to build bridges with every person who joins us on our journey. No matter where it begins, may we find unity by reflecting on the long journey the Israelites in Egypt made thousands of years ago to escape slavery and find freedom in Israel.

Just like he did over their lives, God has given us a purpose. That purpose leads us every day to build a better world and tear down the walls of hatred that seek to divide us, especially anti-Semitism and oppression in all its forms.

To all my friends preparing for Passover, may you be surrounded at the Seder table by those you love. Chag Sameach!
