Preparing to be a mom can be one of the most exciting times! It can also be a time of anxiety and fear of the unknown, especially when it comes to how family finances may change. Diapers, clothing, baby gear and child care — it all adds up! 

I believe moms-to-be and families need more support. That’s why I helped introduce the Child Tax Credit for Pregnant Moms Act to make expecting mothers eligible to receive the child tax credit. It even allows parents who have experienced the tragedy of miscarriage or stillbirth  to qualify for the tax credit. 

As a pro-life woman, I believe we must do more to support life. It’s long past time our tax code reflected that the unborn are children too, and I’m proud to be a part of this effort to support expecting parents. Together, we can give them a chance to get a head start and prepare for their new family’s future.
