McMorris Rodgers Announces $2.3 Million in Violence Against Women Grants to Eastern Washington
WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 21, 2019) – Today, Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) announced $2.3 million in grant funding awarded by the Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women to organizations in the Fifth Congressional District. These organizations include YWCA of Spokane, the City of Spokane, the Spokane Tribe of Indians, and End Violence Against Women International in Colville.
“Together, we must stand up and stop violence of any kind here in our communities,” said Cathy. “These grants help support efforts to combat violence against women and improve services for victims. Thank you to the Department of Justice and Trump administration for prioritizing the important work being done here in Eastern Washington to keep our communities safe and secure.”

- City of Spokane — $750,000.00, Improving Criminal Justice Responses to Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking Grant Program
- Spokane Tribe of Indians — $450,000.00, Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation Grant Program
- End Violence Against Women International, Colville — $500,000.00, SAMFE Grant Program
