McMorris Rodgers Announces $3 Million in Grant Funding for Eastern Washington Housing and Urban Development
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) today announced more than $3 million in new grant funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development for local cities and counties. This funding was made possible by the CARES Act which Cathy supported in Congress in March.
“People in Eastern Washington have been hit hard by the uncertainty of the COVID-19 public health emergency. That’s why I supported additional funding for our local municipalities to ensure they have the resources they need to continue serving our communities,” said McMorris Rodgers. “Thank you to the Trump administration for getting this funding out and continuing to meet the need in our region.”
NOTE: The following grant amounts will be going to Eastern Washington cities and counties:
- Spokane: $1,497,525
- Spokane County: $1,340,488
- Walla Walla: $186,344
The CARES Act, which passed with Cathy’s support in March, provided $5 billion in supplemental Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus. This is the third tranche of additional CDBG funding announced by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
