Our Commitment: A Government That’s Accountable

Values

House Republicans are committed to creating a government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people. The President, along with members of Congress, are elected to represent YOU, and we must always be accountable to you in return – no matter what. But that’s not what’s happening under the Biden administration. Here are a few stats to help you understand what I mean:

  • More than 14 whistleblowers have come forward to publicly raise concerns about the FBI’s politicization.
  • Democrats are poised to hire an army of 87,000 IRS agents—to audit middle-class Americans.
  • Government mandated lockdowns wiped out 20 years of student gains in math and reading.

No administration should pick and choose which freedoms it will preserve and for whom. That’s why House Republicans are fighting to preserve your constitutional freedoms by upholding free speech, protecting the lives of unborn children and their mothers, guaranteeing religious freedom, and safeguarding the Second Amendment – and we’ve already seen results!

Unfortunately, under one-party rule, Democrats have used their power to silence critics and avoid genuine scrutiny. When faced with obvious abuses of power, Democrats in Congress simply bury their heads in the sand.

Do you know how many Congressional hearings we’ve held on the origins of COVID-19? Zero.

Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan? Zero.

The Justice Department targeting parents as “domestic terrorists”? You guessed it, zero.

House Republicans are standing ready to change that. We want to hold President Biden and D.C. bureaucrats accountable by conducting rigorous oversight to rein in government abuse of power and corruption, providing real transparency, and requiring the White House to answer for its incompetence at home and abroad by:

But first, we need to restore the people’s voice by increasing integrity in the election process by implementing voter ID – which 80 percent of Americans support! Right now, I’m leading on the American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act to do just that, as well as clean up our voter rolls, establish standards for how the U.S. Postal Service handles mail-in votes, and require reports on any foreign threats to our elections.

The bottom line is this: The people of Eastern Washington are ready to go in a different direction, and Republicans have a plan. It’s our Commitment to America, and it’s going to get our country back on track.
